On 5 July 2026, as we celebrate the NHS's 78th birthday, we honour the millions of patients whose lives have been touched by its care and the dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters who make that care possible every day. The NHS is more than a health service, it is a promise that, no matter who we are or where we come from, help will be there when we need it most.
A Brighter Beginning for Families

When a baby is born needing extra care, the experience can be overwhelming for parents. Conditions such as jaundice often require phototherapy, a vital treatment to help newborns recover and thrive. Traditionally, this has involved placing babies under bright lights, away from their parents for extended periods, an approach that, while effective, can be distressing and disrupt those first precious moments of bonding.

Silverdale Golf Club has raised an outstanding £7,000 for Bay Hospitals Charity to support the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Infirmary (RLI), following a year-long programme of heartfelt and imaginative fundraising driven by the club’s former Captain and Lady Captain.

Meet the team

We are a small team dedicated to achieving big things. We manage all fundraising and donations for the NHS University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust, including the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Furness General Hospital and Westmorland General Hospital also Ulverston, Millom and our Community teams.
Fundraising ideas

Fundraising is a great way to socialise, have fun and stay healthy. You could join a group, organise your own event or get involved with ours. The funds you raise go towards the care and treatment of local straight to the people. Let’s help make it better for everyone.
Volunteer

We are not currently accepting volunteer applications. Volunteering for your local hospital can be a very rewarding experience, particularly knowing that your efforts are directly helping patients going through treatment. Whether you are a seasoned fundraiser or you are looking to build up some new experience, even if you only have an hour a month, there will be a way you can help.

£84,000 donation supports NHS workers in Lancashire and Cumbria
